History of Verimore Bank, Your Local Bank

This community bank got its start during the depths of the Great Depression in 1934 as the Brookfield Federal Savings and Loan Association.

In 1986, we changed our name to First Missouri Federal Savings and Loan.

In 1994, First Missouri Federal Savings and Loan became one of the first financial companies in the United States to complete a mutual to stock conversion along with a simultaneous change to a national bank charter.

In 2005, we expanded outside of Brookfield for the first time by opening a loan production office in Kearney. Just one year later Kearney had a full-service community bank branch.

In 2012, we expanded again by acquiring branches in northwest Missouri. We continue to serve this community in Eagleville.

In 2013, we expanded our services with the opening of our branch in North Kansas City.

In 2018, our expansion continued when we added a local bank branch in Milan.

In 2022, we changed our name from First Missouri Bank to Verimore Bank.

Verimore Bank is truly a community bank focused on serving the financial needs of the communities we call home. We are proud of our long history of responding to the financial needs of our community and look forward to continuing to do so in the future as the best bank near you.
