History of Verimore Bank
The bank got its start during the depths of the Great Depression in 1934 as the Brookfield Federal Savings and Loan Association.
In 1986 we changed our name to First Missouri Federal Savings and Loan.
In 1994, First Missouri Federal Savings and Loan became one of the first financial companies in the United States to complete a mutual to stock conversion along with a simultaneous change to a national bank charter.
In 2005 we expanded outside of Brookfield for the first time by opening a loan production office in Kearney. Just one year later Kearney had a full-service branch.
In 2012 we expanded again by acquiring branches in northwest Missouri. We continue to serve this community in
Eagleville.
In 2013 we expanded our services with the opening of our branch in North Kansas City.
In 2018 our expansion continued when we added a branch in Milan.
In 2022, we changed our name to Verimore Bank.
Verimore Bank is truly a “community bank” focused on serving the financial needs of the communities we call home. We are proud of our long history of responding to the financial needs of our community and look forward to continuing to do so in the future.
